starLogo
i shoulda been a new media major.
i'm finding starLogo completely fascinating. i
don't quite understand how parallel processing works, but the massive simulation
aspect of SL is infinitely intriguing. six of seven lines of simple code produce
colliding universes or pulsing stars. i guess it's weird that anything massive
in number and scale we immediately compare to the universe at large in order to
ground our perceptions.
been thinking
a lot about emergent behaviour and parallel processing. emotional responses and
collisions work in parallel processing i guess. if one person is ecstatic and
another is completely depressed, the dual sympathy will factor both emotional
responses. we get irritated with people who can't monitor their own emotions to
at least find common ground with ours. so we process in parallel using
subtleties in body posture, intonation, movement, etc.
and fruityloops is cool too. used
starLogo & fruityLoops (FL Studio now i guess) to make the summertech
opening film. 30 seconds of motion in 4 days is kinda neat. another film using
SL is busting its way through, along with about a hundred other
projects..
